Conservationist and historian Steve England will be leading a free ‘Walk on the wild side’ in Charfield to help residents of Charfield Gardens and their neighbours discover the local area and learn fun facts about its history, wildlife, plants and trees.
Meet at the Vintage Birdcage on The Bridge, Wotton Road, Charfield, GL12 8FG. The walk starts at 10.30am and should finish back at the same location by 12.30pm.
Parking is very limited, so if driving, please can you park in the Village Hall car park (opposite) and not in the Vintage Birdcage on The Bridge car park.
It will be a slow paced walk, stopping to look at points of interest – both historic and nature, to look into what’s on your doorstep.
Visit Steve England’s website to learn a bit more about him and what he does!
The walk will go ahead whatever the weather, so if it’s raining still come! Bring umbrellas, coats, sensible footwear as we may be going off the beaten track.
The walk has been organised by the council's travel planning team. It's free of charge and suitable for all ages and abilities. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
