Event description

Description

A Walk on the Wild Side walk in Knighton Park is hosted by Nick Packham, an experienced wildlife expert who will lead you around the park and landscaped gardens to show you the different types of plants and animals in one of our favourite parks.

The walk will begin at 1pm and we will meet by the Heath Garden (near the Sensory Garden), not far from the pedestrian entrance off Palmerston Way. Our fantastic wildlife enthusiast will lead you on a 1-1.5 hour exploration of one of Leicester's green spaces to discover more about nature in the city. This short walk is free to attend, but numbers are limited so please register to book a ticket and secure your place.

When attending our walks, please dress appropriately for the weather conditions (rain coat/ warm clothes / sun hat - as applicable!) and wear comfortable sturdy shoes with flat soles (trainers are fine).

Please note: As we are looking at wildlife, we regret that dogs are not permitted on these walks.

This event is a collaboration between Making Wildlife Count and Choose How You Move. The Making Wildlife Count project is about partnership working and engaging local communities in the green space in which they live. The Choose How You Move project encourages people to get out on foot to discover Leicester and become familiar with its many walking routes. The project provides group walks in the city, which are open to all. Walks are assisted by our friendly volunteers.
