Location: Stewart Park

Come and enjoy a fun-filled day of walking and talking with Assist & The Girls' Network in Middlesbrough! This event is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, get some exercise, and get some fresh air.

Whether you're a seasoned walker or just looking to meet new people, this event is perfect for everyone. So grab your walking shoes and join us at Stewart Park for a memorable day out!

We are on our third year #WalkAndTalk tour with a plan to visit a few of the great Tees Valley hidden gems! What's not to like... we explore and experience some of our perfect parts of our region as we visit woodlands, rivers, parkland and the coast.

Do join us at all 5 boroughs in our region, or just the one near you - Let's get NETWALKING.

We, Aimee and Jan (TGN) and Ann and Julie (AWN) will be waiting for you at the bottom of the park (Ladgate Lane end), park your car, walk out of the car park through the trees at the bottom left corner, and you will spot us there, at our young Sisterwood.

Do consider the weather on the day... will be need to be wrapped up or could we be in summer clothes!?!

May weather is so unpredictable, give your footwear some thought too - it can be wet as we walk through the parts of woodland.

We will be walking mostly on flat.

Let’s enjoy the lake, pond, wildlife, woodland and the Sisterwood, there is plenty of history in the park as Captain Cook was born only a short distance away, the museum to commemorate the great explorer is worth a visit at some point.

We will share a little on the history of the Sisterwood - why, how, when, what and who.

You will know we're incredibly passionate about the visibility and recognition of our Tees Valley women. We took action and we have literally been planting our women in history for some years now.

We must shine a spotlight on the part women have and do play today in our region. We, both AWN and TGN feel we have a duty to our next generation to share our #RoleModels and just one way we do this and celebrate our women’s achievements is by planting trees.

We have just announced our 5th Assist Goodwill Ambassador on International Women's Day, Julie Burniston.

We will be planting a tree for Julie later in the year at the Sisterwood, you are invited, take a look at the Assist calender For more details

You may choose to hang around a little after the walk, many of us like to get to know each other a little more and share more chat over a pot of tea, coffee and sometimes a bite to eat.

No pressure, some of us have family commitments and weekend things to be getting on with, the stay back is entirely optional with all most welcome.

This is a slow pace hour, yes you’ll get some steps in, you will make new contacts in an informal friendly way, you’ll have the chance to talk business and as women we always add that element of personal.

The purpose of our netwalks is to mix social, wellbeing and business in a pleasant weekend hour in the great outdoors.

Come along, to find out more about what both Assist Women's Network and The Girls' Network do to help empower the young girls and women of the Tees Valley.

Get your wellies, boots and walking attire on!

A fresh spring walk is likeky, as we take a stroll around this Middlesbrough victorian park enjoying all it has to offer + the some thanks to our proud local ladies.
