Event Details

South downs and picturesque villages; Perhaps paragliders and cows as well.


This 11 miles walk will be your perfect Saturday exercise. 


Meet at glynde train station 10:14 (when the train from London/Brighton arrives).

The walk will commence at 10:15am.


In the morning, we will walk along the top of the South downs. Enjoy panoramic view of the countryside. Watch paragliders fly over the cows. In the afternoon, we descend into Alciston village, go pass Charleston farmhouse(bloomsbury group's country home) then through the little village of Firle and back to Glynde station. 


Finish time at 19:00 is a guideline. It should be ealier.


Train back to London is at 22 pass each hour. We aim to catch the 16:22 train, change at Lewes or Brighton, back to London by18:00.


Please bring your own picnic lunch.

A gentle reminder:

This is a rambler walk by Hampstead rambler group. If you are not a member, you can try out for free, after 3 times, we would want you to join, only cost you £33 per year.


You walk at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are capable of doing the walks that you undertake, and do not put other people's safety at risk.

On a separate note:
All children under 18 have to be accompanied by an adult
