Event description
Free screening of 'Walk this way’: a film about walking, and the links between physical and mental health.

About this Event

You are invited to a free screening of a Walk this way , a documentary about a recent study that investigated whether walking regularly can help people with severe mental illness to be more active and healthier.

The film will be introduced by Dr Brendon Stubbs, a research physiotherapist at King’s College London, who will discuss some of the latest research on physical activity and mental wellbeing.

We will then show the 35-minute film, which documents an intervention trialled with 40 service users in south London with severe mental illness, designed to support them to be more active.

This will be followed by a Q+A with the filmmaker and people involved in the project.

All welcome: Service users past and present, family members or carers, members of the public, researchers and health professionals.

The film was produced as part of a research project led by the psychosis theme based at NIHR CLAHRC South London, a research organisation working to improve health and care services.

*Please be aware that booking a ticket for a free event does not guarantee your place. Admission is on a first come, first served basis for ticket-holders. As the event is free, we have to overbook to allow for no-shows and to avoid having any empty seats which could otherwise be enjoyed by those who would like to attend.*
