Walk to Nowhere and Historic Pub Social: Temple to Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese
This month we are making the most of the diminishing evenings by starting our Historic Pub Social with A Walk to Nowhere and finishing at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese.
We will meet on Thursday 29th at 6.30pm at Temple Underground Station, WC2R 2PH, from where Stephen Bull will lead a guided tour of this corner of central London. The Walk will finish at the seventeenth century Cheshire Cheese pub at approximately 7.30pm.
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese as it stands today was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London and remodelled in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This Grade II pub occupies a long narrow plot on the north side of Fleet St and retains an historic feel from the entrance down a side alley, into ground floor rooms containing wood panelling and its vaulted cellars beneath.
If you are joining us for the Walk and are running late, you can contact Rachel on 07753 747 279 to catch up.
You are also welcome to meet us at the pub afterwards.
