About this event

The next Refugee Tales walk will be held in Hassocks!

This is the first joint walk between Mid Sussex Ramblers and Refugee Tales.

Meeting point

We will meet at Hassocks Railway station (on the Thameslink and Southern line between London and Brighton) at 10 am to leave at 10:30am.

Friends tickets:

For those who have signed up to be Friends of GDWG, please email Lara (lara@gdwg.org.uk) and she will give you a code and release your ticket for you.

Our Route

Our 9 mile (14.5 km) walk covers a beautiful area of the South Downs.

From the railway we will walk up towards Wolstonbury Hill. This should provide views over the Weald and behind us the coast to the south. Wolstonbury Hill, protected by the National Trust is a Bronze Age enclosure or camp.

You will be pleased to hear that the rest of the walk is downhill and mainly across farmland in and around pictureque Hurstepierpoint. We walk through the Danny Estate and passing Hauteboyes another historical home on our way back.

We will stop for lunch at the recreation ground in Hurstpierpoint.

Please bring a packed lunch and water.

No dogs

We ask that you do not bring dogs (other than guide dogs), as we wish to make the walk accessible for all.

We're looking forward to walking with you!
