Event description

Description

From the ever-popular Railway Path to Easton’s cluttered Victorian terraced streets, this guided walk will explore good and bad walking environments in the neighbourhood.

It will be led by three parents from the local area who all have a passion for improving walking routes to school. They want more people to consider walking as a transport option for local journeys, but know there are barriers that stop people getting out and about.

The route will cover some of Easton’s key school routes. This is an opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by parents who walk their children to school instead of getting in the car, from fly-tipping and bins to pavement parking.

Starting at Easton Community Centre, the walk is an easy route (except where pavements are blocked by bins or cars!) of around 2.5km. We'll be taking notes and highlighting what's good and bad while we go around.

Part of Bristol Walk Fest, which takes place during May, this walk is happening during Living Streets National Walk to School Week. It's organised by Bristol Walking Alliance, Living Streets Bristol and Bristol Health Partners Healthy Neighbourhood Environments team (SHINE).
