About this event
Join Wolverhampton based artist Daniella Turbin for a walk around the City of Wolverhampton. 'S09198' is the grid unique grid reference for the centre of the City of Wolverhampton, and throughout the duration of Offsite9 BAS we will be exploring every underpass, street and building within this one kilometre square. You are invited to sign up to take a one to one walk with the artist, and together we will map and record the city through photography and walking. This project will take place throughout the duration of British Art Show 9, and will finish with the creation of a public map of the city on the scale of 1:100.

No prior experience of photography is necessary, and you do not need to be an experienced walker as we will take a slow and steady pace.
You are invited to sign up as a group or individual, however, please note there is only one ticket per time slot.
If you are unable to attend please notify the organiser at the earliest possible convivence so the time slot can be reallocated.
Please arrive a few minutes early so we can leave on time.
The routes will be planned depending upon individual needs.
Please wear suitable clothing and bring an umbrella, and arrive a few minutes early.

Biography:
Daniella Turbin is a British artist living and working in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, who specialises in drawing, having graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2017 with an MA in Fine Art Practice. Long distance walking is central to the artist’s practice and last year she completed a 443 mile circular walk in Wolverhampton as part of project Stay Home (2020). The artist has participated in residencies with Grizedale Arts, Cumbria, Deveron Projects, Aberdeenshire and The New Art Gallery, Walsall. As a student the artist was shortlisted for the Turner Contemporary Platform Award (2013) and completed a residency at DRAWInternational, Caylus, France (2014). Selected group exhibitions since graduating include IKON for Artists, IKON, Birmingham (2021);Skins, Home, Wolverhampton (2020); Next Wave, RBSA, Birmingham (2020), and It Gets Lighter from Here,Severn Arts, Worcestershire (2020).
