About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Hiking

As part of Walking East Yorkshire Festival the Ramblers Monday area group invite you to join them. Fridaythorpe is known as the highest village in the Yorkshire Wolds. Strolling in attractive unspoilt countryside the walk has to offer many scenic views and an opportunity to walk in unique secluded chalklandvalleys. Starting from the village, we head to the top of tranquil Holm Dale and head towards Wold House Farm where we will be greeted by the statue of the welcoming farm manager. We then walk by the top of scenic Horse Dale, and join part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, near Glebe Farm. Heading towards the quiet village of Huggate, Cow Dale and Horse Dale come into view. It is here many poems are written on a bench overlooking the unrivalled view of the dale. The bench has been designed to reflect the flow of the surrounding valleys. Moving on, we head to the peaceful valley of Holm Dale and arrive back at the village of Fridaythorpe.
