Event description
This 90 minute FREE walk is a relaxed, informal chance to discover some of Mackintosh's work and heritage starting in Glasgow's East End

About this Event

As part of Mackintosh month in October 2019 the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society are offering free learning walks every Saturday. These fun, informal walks are an opportunity to discover Mackintosh venues throughout Glasgow. Join us for one or all! Each walk follows a different route, are of varied lengths and cover different Mackintosh works. Learn about the buildings, make some Mackintosh friends and get fit!

Walk 4 - East End & Central - Saturday 26th October - 13:00 to 14:45

The longest of our walks will cover some of Mackintosh's earliest work. Our starting point will be Martyr's Public School in Townhead, we will walk past Glasgow Cathedral and through the Necropolis, adding in a Dennistoun loop, and back through the Merchant city to finish at the Lighthouse. Another lovely cafe here to finish the walk or add some extra steps to your pedometer and climb the Mackintosh tower!

All walks will start at 1pm. Walking times are estimates as we will go at a pace that works for the whole group. All walks are free to join but we request that you book a space so we can manage expectations on the day. As these are volunteer led, donations are always welcome.
