About this event

Hobbies • Drawing & Painting

In a never-ending cycle of urbanising and industrialising it seems hard for us to filter the stories surrounding us. Being stuck in a life of sensory overload we also have lost the narrative of internal silence. Our brain is making extra hours because of all the external impressions coming our way, and we are running from retreat to session to find the inner calm we need for re-connection. Still, stress levels and overload have never been so high.

These two sessions will bring you into the midst of the noise, to find the voice of silence. We'll discover that a lot of noises carry their own story, and when bringing them into our own inner silence, they might even have a voice worth listening to. We'll also be exploring the different voices of silence and how to express all of these voices in a sound based art piece.

We will have two sessions of 2 hours each, and some assessment in the middle to get the most out of it. There's no need for any art experience, only the willingness to explore the voices of sound and silence, and reflecting on them in your own, personal way.

These two sessions take place on 2nd and 16th April. They both start at 1pm UK time and last for two hours.

Some paper, a journal, and some tools for mark making are recommended.

Please note that at Tariki Trust, we generally do not record our online events. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds to people who do not show up assuming that they will get a recording.

Please note that although this event is part of the Ten Directions training course for ecotherapy practitioners, anybody can book and take part in this public online event. If you are interested, please do buy a ticket – all are welcome!

About Rolinke Bremer

Rolinke is a Scotland-based multi-media (eco-)artist, mystic and (eco-)spiritual guide. She has quite an eclectic background and approach, combining her deep love for arts, nature, study and spirituality in her daily work and living. Rolinke has always been intrigued and inspired by the personal narratives of the land and of all creatures around her. Even from a young age she was convinced that all life, and life’s journey, is sacred, and should be listened to, valued, and respected. This nature-based ethos is her basis for creating art, and to inspire and influence her environment.

Rolinke loves to offer practical and spiritual tools immersed in nature and sustainability to bring others closer to the heartbeat of the land, and to their own calling within the sacredness of life. She has finished her second year of Tariki Trust in Environmentally Based Therapies, and is starting up her own practices. Next to that she is part of the OBOD (Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids), and a facilitator in the Wild Church and Forest Church movements. You can find her, and her (art)work, on www.triskelyon.art
