Frequently asked questions

What is Walking the Wheel?

Walking the Wheel is a soulful gathering held throughout the year, to honour the 8 seasonal festivals of the Wheel of the Year. Each event invites you to reconnect with nature, the Earth’s rhythms, and your own inner cycles through ritual, song, meditation, and ceremony.

What is Lughnasadh (Lammas)?

Lughnasadh (pronounced "Loo-nah-sah") is a traditional Celtic festival marking the first harvest of the year. It's a time to give thanks for the abundance of summer, reflect on what we’ve grown (both literally and spiritually), and honour the sun’s journey as we begin to move towards autumn.

Where is the event held?

The event takes place at the Garden Room, Newton Meadows, in Harmer Hill, Shrewsbury (SY4 3EA) – a peaceful, beautiful venue surrounded by nature. It's a true sanctuary for the soul, perfect for deep connection and reflection.

What should I bring with me?

Just bring yourself, a blanket, yoga mat and a cushion. Everything else will be provided, including refreshments and all materials for the despacho ceremony. You may also want to bring a coat or shawl for comfort during the outdoor fire ceremony, depending on the weather.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and in layers. We'll be spending time both indoors and outdoors, so please wear something you feel relaxed in and can move in easily. We will hold the fire ceremony outside, so weather-appropriate clothing and shoes are a good idea.

Do I need to have experience with ceremony, meditation or singing?

Not at all! This is a gentle, welcoming space for everyone – whether you’re completely new to this path or have been walking it for years. The ceremonies, songs, and practices are all guided with love, and you’re encouraged to participate in whatever way feels right for you.

Will there be food or drinks provided?

Yes! You’ll be welcomed with tea, coffee, juice and cake on arrival. We’ll also have light refreshments during the break. If you have dietary requirements, just let me know when booking, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

What if I can’t make it on the day?

I completely understand that plans can change. I can offer a full refund if you give at least 48 hours’ notice via the Eventbrite page. After that time, I'm unable to refund your space as preparation will already be underway.
