(PLEASE NOTE that aspects of this route may be problematic for persons with mobility issues. Please contact me IN ADVANCE to ensure that I can make proper provision.)

In the 1840s William Cubitt headed east to the Isle of Dogs. Alongside his other notable achievements, such as Covent Garden Market and Euston Station, he was to create something big - a whole community in an area of low-lying marshland.

This brought the Isle of Dogs into the modern industrial world.

Please meet me outside Jack Dash House, on the corner of Lawn House Close and Marsh Wall, and explore Cubitt Town with me! The nearest station is South Quay DLR.

We finish our tour approximately two hours later at Island Gardens, where you can enjoy one of London's most important views.
