About this event

  • 2 hours

This walk will be perfect for those who who want to go on a riverside stroll in London – as most of the time we will be venturing through a riverside park and along the banks of the River Thames

Famous the world over with its association with the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, Putney and Fulham offers so much more in the way of history which very few people know much about.

Obviously, we will hear of some of the history of the Boat Race and its association with Putney, but the race also embodies its own brand of style and elitism. And this fits in with Putney which has attracted the rich and famous over the years.

We will see the Palace built for the Bishops of London as well as old medieval churches and almshouses.

And the history will encompass such a wide variety of figures from history and contemporary times such as Thomas Cromwell, Marc Bolan and Kermit the Frog!
