Victorian London was the epicentre of a boom in Britain's national prosperity. But this success had a human cost. Poverty and exploitation accompanied London's financial rise.

Join me in acknowledging those Victorians who reached out to the dark area that clung to the northeastern corner of the City.

Meet me outside Aldgate Station on Aldgate High Street. The tour will take approximately two hours, and finishes by Spitalfields Market.
