Event description

Description

Join our family-friendly walking tour from The Monument to The City Centre and discover the architecture behind London’s most famous fire, the Great Fire of London.

The tour starts at The Monument, where you will climb to the top and discover the story of where the Great Fire began. From here you will be guided along the fire’s progress on an interactive walk through the City of London. Along the way you’ll hear about the people, places and stories behind the rebuilding of London.

The tour ends at The City Centre, where you will see the amazing 3D model of the City of London and learn about the present and future building projects in the City. Families will also be invited to help us re-design the Monument through an arts and crafts activity.

Please note that this event involves a climb of 311 steps to the top of The Monument and a 1/2 mile walk to the City Centre. Lunch is not provided so please bring a packed lunch.

This activity is open to children of all ages but particularly appropriate for those aged 6 to 10. All children (those aged 16 and under) must be accompanied by an adult.
