About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Join us on a Saturday, where the whole family can come along and babies up to 13 months old can enjoy a free taster session of Baby Sensory.

Children are welcome, but we will have to limit those between 13 months and 5 years to 5.

All children over 5 are welcome.

There will be opportunites to Share Your Story of having accessed Maternity and/or Neonatal Care within Walsall. Or you can just listen if you want, there is no pressure to speak up.

There will be refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere where you can learn about what is happening in your local Maternity and Neonatal services and learn more about the MNVP.

As spaces are limited to 12 babies for the Baby Sensory session and to ensure we stay within capacity for the venue, we would ask that when you book, you include the details of everyone attending. Thanks

Frequently asked questions

Can children attend?

Children are more than welcome, the meeting takes place in a setting suitable for children and smaller babies (up to 13 months) can join in with the Baby Sensory Session Feel free to bring your children and they may even get to have cuddles from the person that brought them into the world.

Is there parking?

There is plenty of parking at the site.

Are refreshments provided?

Tea, coffee and cold drinks are available, along with something sweet to help you get through the day. We try and cater for different dietary requirements or preferences.

Does it cost me anything to attend?

The answer is NO. Attending the meeting is free. We can reimburse travel costs (although a receipt may be required, especially if you travel in a taxi), just let us know on the day.

Can you get public transport to the venue?

From Walsall Bus Station you can get the buses 36 / 36A and the 997 Platinum, although it is about a 0.3 - 0.5 mile walk from the nearest bus stop. We do have some free bus codes to be used on a Smart Phone - please contact blackcountrymnvp@gatewayfs.org for more details.

Why would I come to the meeting, isn't it just for professionals?

The MVP doesn't function without Service User input, so we need those people that have accessed Maternity and/or Neonatal Services to come along and share their experiences or have their say on changes that are being proposed. You are NEVER 'just a Mom' or 'Just a Dad'.

Is it open to anyone?

Yes. Providing your reason for attending is because you or someone in your family has accessed Maternity and/or Neonatal Services, preferably in Walsall, within the past 3 years then you are more than welcome to attend the Meetings.

Will I need to pay for the Baby Sensory Session?

No, this is a free 45 minute session being provided to our families. Further information about the venue can be found here: https://www.babysensory.com/birminghamnorth/
