Event Details

Walter Benjamin’s uniquely multifaceted writings have been a major influence on 20th and 21st century thinking. To commemorate his death in September 1940 during his escape from the Nazis in a small Spanish border town, Carroll /Fletcher Gallery, the Goethe-Institut, Institut Ramon Llull, the London Review of Books Shop, the Royal College of Art, Verso Books, and the Whitechapel Gallery present a series of events dedicated to Benjamin’s complex life and work.

Writer Tom Overton explores the afterlives of Walter Benjamin’s archival imagination and the work of art in the age of digital reproduction as part of a special series looking at relationships between digital technology and culture.

This event is part of a season-long collaboration between Carroll/Fletcher and Verso Books.
