This course is for Waltham Forest staff ONLY, please enter the password you have been given to book your place. If you are not associated with Waltham Forest Borough Council interested in booking a place on this course, see our full list of courses.
Please note that this session requires participants to already have a working knowledge of child sexual exploitation and have attended CSE training already. The basics on child sexual exploitation will not be covered in this course.
This half day training session enables participants to develop a greater awareness of how CSE affects families, equipping professionals with tools to develop effective responses.
As a result of the training, you will:
Understand how CSE has an impact on parents/carers
Identify ways of engaging parents/carers around CSE and the associated risks including incorporating diversity and identity
Understand how attitudes, beliefs and language can impact on parents/carers engagement with services
Identify the ways in which CSE can take place within and outside of the family home
Identify the responsibilities parents and foster carers have in safeguarding their children from CSE
Throughout the training you will be encouraged and supported to consider how your own practice can best address and support families who are affected by CSE.
