Want to get into Public Engagement?
Monday, 3rd October 2014
Kanaris Lecture Theatre at the Manchester Museum
Manchester Girl Geeks and ScienceGrrl, who both run workshops and events to engage people with science, are looking for early career researchers, and anyone working in/studying science, technology, engineering or related subjects to join our team of speakers.
We're running a free half-day training event on Friday 3rd October, with training from Jon Wood (jonwoodscience.com) on speaking skills, confidence, and planning and running activities. There'll also be free coffee and cake, provided by the University of Manchester's PG training department.
Following on from the training you will have a chance to volunteer and speak our next event in October. As part of Manchester Science Festival we will be holding a Girl Geek Dinner: What Has Science Done For Me? Details of this can be found at: whathassciencedoneforme.eventbrite.co.uk

Manchester Girl Geeks
Manchester Girl Geeks is a not-for-profit group which organises networking events, talks and hands-on workshops for women and girls with an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
While our events are aimed at girls and women of all ages, we are happy to welcome boys and men - though it would be great if you could bring a girl geek along! Please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
