🎨 Wantage Life Drawing @ King Alfred’s Head

We’re excited to return to the historic King Alfred’s Head in the heart of Wantage for our October Life Drawing event — with a special extra session this time!

✨ What’s New?

Before our usual 2-hour life drawing session, we’re adding an optional 1-hour portrait modelling session.

Portrait session: 6:00 – 7:00 pm

Life Drawing session : 7:00 – 9:00 pm

You can book the portrait session on its own, exclude it completely or choose a combined ticket for the full evening.

Early Bird: £15.00 (includes Eventbrite fees & VAT) – available for a limited time (Portrait + Life Modelling)

Early Bird: £10.50 (includes Eventbrite fees & VAT) – available for a limited time (Life Modelling only)

General admission tickets available after Early Bird closes.Spaces are limited — booking early is highly recommended.

🖌 What to Expect (Portrait Modelling)

One single pose for the hour with small breaks.

A hosted but untutored session with relaxing music.

A mix of short warm-up poses, medium-length poses, and a longer final pose.

All levels welcome — from beginners to experienced artists.

Bring your own materials (limited paper, boards, pencils and charcoal available on the night).

Enjoy drinks from the bar before, during, and after the session.

After class, stay for a chat, share your artwork, and unwind with fellow artists.

⛔ Please note:

No photography of models.

The organiser may take photos of artwork with prior agreement from the artist & model.

Prompt arrival is essential — late entry may not be possible during live poses.

Doors open: 5:30 pm (arrive early, get comfortable, grab a drink).

ℹ️ FAQs

Can I get a refund?

We have a strict no-refund policy. However, with at least 2 weeks’ notice, we can (subject to availability) transfer your ticket to another event.

Can under 18s attend?

Yes, but only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Wantage Life Drawing in association with Urban Life Drawing

Please Note:

It's essential to arrive promptly as we may not be able to accommodate latecomers during a live pose and spaces are limited.

Although the pub will be open all day please note that Doors to our private event open at 5:30, feel free to come early, get comfortable and grab a drink.

Early bird prices are only available for a short while.

Drinks are available from the bar throughout the session and afterwards

First Portrait pose at 6:00 pm, ending 7pm

First Life Model pose at 7pm ending 9pm

Please bring your own materials, however, limited numbers of sketching paper, wooden drawing boards, basic pencils and charcoal will be available.

This is a hosted but untutored session accompanied by relaxing music.

The organiser may take photos of artwork during the session with prior agreement from the artist & model.

No photography of the model is allowed by the Artists.

Free parking is available a short walk from the venue at "The Beacon".
