The Employees with Young Families and the Gender Equality Networks have teamed up to present this interactive event which looks at how you can achieve a good work life balance while progressing your career with a young family. Being a working parent offers many challenges so we are pleased to welcome some DfT staff members - who have successfully managed to enjoy a fruitful career while also being a parent - to share their personal experience, highlighting any challenges they have faced and how they overcame them. They will also cover some of the postive support DfT offers (eg flexible working) which has helped them balance work and home and progress their career as well as advice and tips about other things that have helped.
This will be an honest and frank event, focusing on the topics you want to talk about in a supportive forum. We've allocated plenty of time for an open discussion with opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and share thoughts on what works well in DfT and what could be improved. We would particularly like to see line managers at this event because of their front line role in supporting people to manage the demands of home and work.
