Wardrobe Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
All of us live our lives in our clothes. These can therefore tell the stories of our changing identities, bodies and memories over time. However, in the everyday rush of buying, wearing and throwing away clothes, it can be easy to overlook the histories they accumulate as we own and wear them over time, as they become worn.
Our Wardrobe Workshops are free with the option to make a donation if you would like to and feel able to do so. Any donation you make supports our work at Worn and helps us to continue to challenge negative fashion cultures through new approaches. Thank you.
Wardrobe Workshop
Worn’s virtual Wardrobe Workshop series invites you to reveal, rethink and revalue your relationships with your clothes. Through a series of Worn Archive insights, interactive activities and discussion, covering clothing-related themes from identity to sustainability, we will ask you to consider and share the stories of your own clothes and clothing experiences. We hope that this perspective-changing workshop will help you to celebrate the various values hidden within your wardrobe, so that more of the clothes we own might become truly worn.
Please note, our Wardrobe Workshops are interactive and are therefore limited to 6 participants to ensure that everyone can take part in activities and discussion.
Worn Archive
The Worn Archive is an ongoing collection of clothing stories and experiences that covers everything from everyday acts of dressing to the complex web of clothing, individuality and society. We use this unique resource to share important insights on Worn's platforms, inspire our ongoing projects and inform our organisational practice.
We see our Wardrobe Workshops as opportunities to continually add to the variety of voices represented by the Worn Archive, which we want to be an inclusive resource that celebrates diversity through the universally accessible yet individually distinctive medium of clothing.
For this purpose, please note that we record all of our Wardrobe Workshops. You can learn more about Worn, the Worn archive and our privacy policy on our website.
Accessibility
At Worn, we want to make sure that our community is an accessible and inclusive space for all. Please contact us by email with any accessibility requirements via info.wornworkshop@gmail.com.
