Warrington workshop: Bringing flood modelling to your local community
Wed 29 March 2017, 18:30 – 20:00 BST
CH2M is delivering a number of free-to-attend regional workshops throughout the UK in 2017.
These workshops are intended to be informal events, allowing users of our software to share best practice by demonstrating how they have applied the software to their projects and also to enable CH2M to share new features within Flood Modeller Pro. The workshops will include a Q&A session which will allow attendees to ask questions about the software within an informal setting. It’s also an excellent opportunity to meet others within the flood modeller community.
The Warrington workshop will take place on Wednesday 29th March at Birchwood Business Park. The workshop will begin at 18:30 (refreshments from 18:00) and end at 20:00. It will include presentations from:
- Complex reservoir modelling at Croston FRMS
Liam Durr, Modeller, CH2M
This 20 minute presentation will demonstrate a number of features within the software to represent complex reservoir schemes with a focus on the Croston FRMS.
- Modelling bridges within Flood Modeller Pro
Peter Spencer, Advisor, Environment Agency
This presentation will discuss the theory and practice of modelling bridges within Flood Modeller Pro, with many examples to illustrate good and not-so-good practice.
- The sky’s the limit with Flood Cloud
Adam Parkes, Senior Modeller, CH2M
This 10 minute session will provide a live demonstration Flood Cloud (coming later in 2017) and will discuss some of the benefits of using our latest service.
- Open Q&A session
This 30 minute session will allow attendees to ask any questions they may have with regards to specific functionality, best practice when applying the software or discuss any challenges they’ve previously experienced. Questions that are frequently submitted to our technical support team will also be covered.
This event has received the approval of The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) and will contribute to your CPD.
Please note that spaces are extremely limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Once the event is full, people wishing to attend will be added to a waitlist.
