How do I get to Warstone Lane cemetery?

Getting here: Train and Tram stops at the Jewellery Quarter Station in Vyse Street , Hockley Bus 8a, 8c and 101 from Birmingham city centre to Chamberlain clock at Warstone Lane walk to Vyse Street, Bus 16 &74 to Great Hampton Street. Car – Multi-storey car park in Vyse Street.

Do I have to arrive early? Please arrive by 12.15 am to check in at the Friends information stall & collect your admittance badge for the tour to commence at 12.30am

A disabled toilet is hired for open days only, this is situated in Warstone Lane cemetery near the Pitsford Street entrance. Donations at the stall are welcome towards the cost of the toilet. There are several, cafe's, bars and restaurants nearby.

What is the duration of the tour?

Duration of WARSTONE Lane cemetery, interior tunnel tour ,is about 50 minutes or more depending on Q & A that are encouraged. If you have booked a neighbouring KEY HILL cemetery catacomb chambers tour, allow time for the tour, plus the walk from one venue to the other. Wise to leave an hour clear.

Yes, a short walk from the memorial garden, leading down to Warstone Lane catacombs, there are several steps.

Are the tours suitable for the less abled?

Accepted Answer

These tours are not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Both cemeteries have uneven ground. There are several steps in both cemeteries and the tour requires walking uphill and down hill.

Yes, up to 7 days before the event, this does not include the refund of Eventbrite's booking fee.

There are no concessions for catacomb tours. There are concessions for cemetery tours for those who hold a current membership. www.fkwc.org

Are the catacomb tours suitable for children ?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Children under 16 years of age are required to be with an adult wh has also purchases a ticket. Note, these are dark spaces with uneven ground.

Can I bring my dog on a catacomb tour?

No sorry no dogs are allowed. If your dog is an assisted dog please contact the Friends www.fkwc.org

Can I swap or change my ticket?

Accepted Answer

You can manage your order & cancel up to 7 days before the event, & change your ticket to another time slot, subject to availability. Canceling orders does not include a refund of Eventbrite's booking fee.  We are unable to swap and change tickets for you.

No, All revenue from the Friends of Key Hill & Warstone Lane tours, talks & presentations, membership, plus sales & donations are for the Friends Grave Restoration Fund, to repair damaged & broken graves.

Friends are the only group to care for the cemeteries as well as raising funds for damaged & broken graves aiding the Friends restoration fund. This is achieved via membership, guided cemetery tour, catacomb tours, talks & presentations, sales at open days and history fairs , plus donations etc.
