Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Taster Day! - Women
Date and time
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service invites women to take up the challenge! Recruitment Taster Day - Women
About this event
Warwickshire Fire & Rescue will shortly begin recruitment for wholetime firefighters. Our firefighters play a vital role in keeping communities safe, responding to emergencies as well as completing important prevention work with local businesses, schools and vulnerable individuals.
For women considering applying for this role, we strongly recommend attending our taster days. At these events, you will have the opportunity to:
• Meet with current WFRS firefighters and speak to them about the role and the responsibilities of becoming a firefighter, including how they engage with our communities to keep them safe.
• Discuss the physical assessments with current firefighters and ask any questions you may have, as well as receiving helpful advice and guidance on how you can build up your strength and fitness.
• Learn about the recruitment process, our values and behaviours, our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and what it’s like being a firefighter for WFRS.
There is no such thing as a typical firefighter! We actively encourage women, those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds and new emerging communities to consider a career with us. Our mission is to have a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We need representatives of our residents - people who are compassionate, dedicated, fit, brave, team players and good communicators.
Our firefighters play a huge part in making Warwickshire the best it can be. If you’re passionate about making a difference, and think you could have what it takes to become a firefighter, sign up to a recruitment taster day to start your journey. Following our recruitment taster days, applications will open on the 25th July.
Again, we recommend you attend our Online Sessions and Taster Days to have a full understanding of the Whole-Time Recruitment process.
