Event description
An opportunity to hear from leading practioners about latest research into the risks of radicalisation

About this Event

The Warwickshire annual Prevent Conference provides an excellent opportunity to find out the latest issues around Prevent. This year our keynote speaker is Dr Amy McKee - who will present her reflections on radicalisation processes following her extensive work on behalf of the Home Office.

Dr Amy McKee has a BSc in Psychology and Criminology, an MSc in Forensic Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has worked as a clinical psychologist for a number of years in forensic settings including secure units and prisons. In this role she worked with patients who had committed offences providing risk assessments, management advice and interventions.

Amy now works independently for criminal justice agencies and social services. She has worked with UK Counter Terrorism Policing for a number of years providing investigative support, interview and risk management advice. She was the Lead Psychologist for a 4 year research project examining lone actor behaviours. This research is now used internationally to improve police decision making, and multi agency working in the risk management of potential terrorist offenders.

The aim of the conference will be to:-

give attendees an update on the current priorities for Warwickshire

latest research on radicalisation and how to risk manage vulnerable individuals

an insight into the personal experiences of being drawn to extremism
