Event description
Bristol Waste to Wealth Summit Thursday 18th July, 15:00 – 18:00, followed by networking

About this Event

At our Waste to Wealth Summit in November 2018, our founding patron, HRH The Prince of Wales said that we are the first generation to know that we are undermining planetary life support systems and the last that can fix it. With school children striking from school to demand that we deliver them a liveable planet, the time for action is now.

Bristol is a city leading the way, recently declaring a climate emergency and setting an ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030. We believe that together we can start to tackle the issues that are vital to make this vision a reality.

As the Princes Responsible Business Network one of our key goals is to innovate to repair and sustain our planet. Bristol is at the forefront of this endeavour and we would like to explore how BITC can bring the collective strength of our network to help accelerate the transition.

We would be delighted if you could join us at a workshop to start the conversation on July 18th in Bristol. The workshop will enable us to come together with like-minded organisations, explore opportunities, share learning and try out new ideas in Bristol. More specifically, we will:

● Discuss local environmental priorities/issues;

● Share where support and engagement from others will help move the dial;

● Explore how Business in the Community’s environment programmes can support what you are trying to achieve;

● Identify opportunities to collaborate across Bristol.

We will spend much of the time in small groups where you’ll get the opportunity to share your ideas and get advice from environmental experts and peers. Our intention is that you’ll leave with a better understanding of Bristol’s challenges and priorities and what you might do within your own organisation to make a difference.

To make the workshop as helpful as possible, we would appreciate your input in advance:

● Share your ideas – We’d like you to come along with one or two ideas about what the important environmental issues are for your business and your employees.

● Let us know what questions you have and what help you feel you need – We’ll try and answer as many of these as possible on the day but would also appreciate your input into shaping the support we provide over the coming months.

You are welcome to extend this invitation to colleagues, suppliers and clients who you think would find the workshop useful.

We very much hope that you’re able to participate.
