WISE CDT Industry Day 2016

The WISE CDT Industry Day will showcase about 40 current research projects in themes such as Enhancing Infrastructure Resilience, Water Resources: Supply and Quality, Coastal and Marine Processes, and Flood Risk and Prevention. The event will also explore ways in which organisations can engage with the WISE CDT to tackle the challenges they face. The aim is to stimulate new partnerships, leverage for collaboration on research, and routes to impact and implementation for current and future research. About 60 WISE CDT research students and academics will be available for discussions and to develop new partnerships.

15:30 Water: Drivers for Change, Richard Brown, Associate, ARUP.
Richard leads the Arup Water team in Bristol. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has delivered award winning schemes, across the water cycle, both in the UK and abroad. He is an expert in resilience, green infrastructure and flood risk management. He has worked for a large scope of clients, including water companies, rail companies, contractors, local authorities, developers and regulators.

Around 60 PhD students and academics will be available to discuss their interests and develop potential partnerships. WISE students in Cohort 4 are currently developing their PhD project concepts, and could well be looking for collaborative partners. So for an industrial visitor this is a chance to connect to a funded research student.
