Water is the driving force of all nature with Anthony Keyworth
All great civilisations controlled and exploited rivers. Only when flooding could be avoided and irrigation was made available could populations move on to trade goods, acquire wealth and then nurture the development of art and culture. This talk will outline modern river management techniques and compare them with Leonardo’s hydraulic knowledge when he designed the works on the River Arno.
Tony Keyworth is a retired civil engineer and former Severn Trent Engineering Manager who has spent most of his working life on water projects and has a passion for Italian history and culture.
Places are strictly limited and booking is essential. All talks are free, but normal entry charges apply.
