Thanks to our NNBN member, we’re going WATER NETWORKING on Wednesday 27th August on the River Nene in Thrapston.

A session full of laughter as you are able to float on the river and do some team bonding as you share the experience of paddleboard.WHATSUP Training will guide you through fun games and activities and one or two hidden challenges on the water in a safe and supported session.

This session will allow you time to chat with people on and off the water, share in a collective experience and share the enjoyment of being on a paddle board on the river.

The session is all about getting out with other business leaders and doing something different as you network and paddle your way along the River Nene.As you help to showcase what WHATSUP Training as a company is about; helping people to get outdoors, become active, and help with things like; improving self confidence, developing communication skills, and overcoming tasks as a team in a wet and wild way.

Key things we work on:Communications, increasing personal resilience, relaxing and reconnecting with nature.

The session includes:

Tips for getting on the water including how to get safely on and off your SUP from different places you are likely to paddle.

Learn to paddle with practical skills such as paddling forward, turning and stopping… pretty much everything you need to get started and moving, along with standing up on your board (if you want to)

Getting to see those you know in a different way (and getting to laugh with them when they maybe go for a swim)

The first few minutes will be board and paddle orientation, then after that anything can happen. Look out for the Ducks !

WHATSUP Training as a Delivery Partner of Paddle UK is the only paddleboard training centre in Northamptonshire that is accredited by the sports governing body, as such we may be able to register you as having completed the Paddle UK Start Award (Subject to meeting Award requirements) at the end of the session.

What to bringYourself, a sense of adventure, suitable clothing for on the water and a change of kit to leave in the car. ( please leave all kit in the car, there is no storage at the meeting point)Check out the additional information included in the confirmation notice for more details of what to wear and what to bring with you.

Included: All safety and paddle equipment is provided but if you have your own board that you will be using, let us know in this booking form, we can make space for one more person then..

Excluded: Please note we do not supply wetsuits.

What to expectMeet your instructor and get ready to learn some new skills on the water

We’ll help you with kit and equipment to get you ready for the water.

We’ll run you through some essentials on land before walking your boards a couple metres to the launch point.

After you’ve been for a paddle, learned some new skills, and most of all had some fun and enjoyed the session with us , we will get back to dry land and hopefully see some of you in the Woolpack opposite after.

Upon booking your space, we will forward you a link to complete another form which will confirm your booking.
