Event description

Description

The BBC's recent Blue Planet II series made no apologies for highlighting the vital importance of human action to repair damage that is being done to our seas and oceans but what is the human impact of decades of neglect and misuse? This session will look at the resources that are available to help teachers make links between the cleanup of our water systems, responsible consumption and the protection of human rights.

“By 2030, improve water quality by reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimizing release of hazardous chemicals and materials, halving the proportion of untreated wastewater and substantially increasing recycling and safe reuse globally."

The aim with this session is to explore ways to raise awareness of this global issue, but also discuss how to take action. The session will focus on some of the excellent material produced to bring these topics into the classroom.

World Water Day is on the 22nd of March.
