Water stories of Sheffield
Sat 20 May 2017, 11:30 – 15:30 BST
Do you have an interest in the environment and the history of Sheffield? During a 2 hour walk by the River Don in Sheffield, you will have a chance to learn more about water-related issues and research about drought and flooding. A knowledgeable tour guide will give a historical account of the city’s development and the role that the river has played. After the walk there will be a snapshot storytelling workshop to represent memories or future scenarios about the River Don, and a musical performance from Sheffield-based singer/song-writer Sharron Kraus.
Refreshments are available from 11:30am at the Riverside Pub. The walk starts 12pm. A free lunch will be provided on return to the Riverside at 2pm where the snapshot storytelling will take place, which will run until 3:30pm.
