You’ll explore different ways to add colour to your brush lettering, including blending, ombré effects, varying transparency, creating delicate floral decorations to add to your work and turn those into borders—all using a simple paintbrush.
Week 1 The Foundations of Brush Calligraphy and controlling the brush. An introduction to creating letters with a water brush and paintbrush. How hard to press and where to change the pressure.
Week 2 Understanding alphabets and how to alter the style of your lettering.
Week 3 Mixing your colours, colour terms, experiments and using colour effectively.
Week 4 Create beautiful loose watercolour florals to decorate your work. Combining calligraphy and Illustration. Creating borders and decorations.
Week 5 Constructing a Wreath and composing a finished piece, sketches and stages of a design.
