Watercolour painting for beginners
Sat 4 March 2017, 11:00 – 13:00 GMT
This class for beginners will give you the basics for exploring watercolour, using fun and easy techniques. Designer and illustrator Michelle Evans will take you through the different paints, brushes and papers that are available, and teach you how to mix colours.
After playing with colours, Michelle will go through the different effects you can achieve with watercolour, such as opacity, blending and pulling. This will provide you with the essentials to create basic shapes and strokes with your brush.
Once you've had the chance to explore colours and effects, Michelle will show you how to create a watercolour ice cream cone with these techniques. The painting will be inspired by the Bears Ice Cream Company's delicious recipes.
Each class includes the following, for you to take home:
- Large watercolour paint brush with pointed tip
- Watercolour paper block
- Set of watercolour paints
- Colour mixing guide and links to online resources
Michelle will guide you throughout the class, and give tips on developing your own unique style with watercolour. The class is all about enjoying the effects of watercolour, and how you can use these to create a simple painting.
If you'd like to purchase hot/cold drinks, ice cream or cookies, the counter will be open in Bears Ice Cream Company. Please be sure you can attend the class, as it is non refundable once purchased. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and Michelle will be happy to help.
