Event description
This class is a great introduction to painting and experimenting with different watercolour painting techniques.

About this event

Time: 7-9pm

Date: Tue 1 June

Location: Zoom

This class is a great introduction to painting and experimenting with different watercolour painting techniques. Watercolour paintings look delicate and whimsical when they’re used correctly and they’re not as difficult as the bad press gives them! This class explores the fundamentals to painting using Watercolours and we create a still life painting.

We will explore mixing colours and how we apply the paint in different ways, to really simplify the process. We will look into an artist/painting that uses watercolour to practice some techniques and then we will do a still life.

Why this class?

Learning how to use paints can be daunting, but by looking at mixing colours and how we apply the paint in different ways, it really simplifies the process. Watercolours look delicate and whimsical when they’re used correctly and they’re not as difficult as the bad press gives them! This class explores the fundamentals to painting using Watercolours and watercolour brushes and we create a still life painting, alongside colour mixing and an artist study.

It’s not easy with so many restrictions just now and the dark winters can be difficult on our mental health, so this is the perfect way to keep busy, learn some new skills, and have a chat! I keep a very relaxed class.

Please also feel free to bring a cup of tea, glass of wine, gin and tonic along with you - whatever helps the drawing process ;)

Logistics

The class will be held on Zoom, so you can see exactly what to do, plus I can see your progress and give feedback along the way. It’s a relaxed class and questions are encouraged throughout. Although it’s online, I like to try and be as interactive as possible.

Please download the Zoom app before class starts to check it’s working ok. This can work on your phone, laptop or tablet.

When you purchase your class, you will be sent a confirmation email and receipt for your purchase.

You will receive your Zoom link and reference photos separately, approx 24 hours before class starts.

If you have not received yours by this point, please contact me and I’ll make sure it reaches you in plenty time!
