Watercolour Portrait Drawing Workshop
Sat 3 December 2016, 12:00 – 15:00 GMT
In this 3 hour workshop I’ll be introducing you to watercolour painting techniques and teaching portrait drawing skills.
We will be using Kuretake Gansai Tambi 36 colour watercolour sets. They are incredibly vibrant watercolours with a creamy, more opaque texture and a selection of very vibrant colours.
In the first hour we will experiment with watercolours, explore different painting techniques, practice & learn how to use & mix colours.
In the second part of the workshop you'll learn basic facial anatomy and how to draw people, composition and how to approach portraits, some tips and tricks on where to start and how to make the painting work. For this part please bring a photo reference if you like (lots of inspiration photos will be provided on the day).
This workshop is a great starting point and you will go away with knowledge to practice and develop your own unique style, suitable both for beginners and for people who want to develop their existing practice.
All materials provided, as well as soft drinks, wine and snacks.
You'll walk away with:
Watercolour painting & portrait drawing skills
A set of 36 Kuretake Gansai Tambi (worth in art stores over £40)
Water Brush Pen
Mini goodie bag with a pencil, eraser (basic drawing materials), postcard, facial anatomy leaflet.
And hopefully lots of inspiration to continue painting with watercolours!
Workshop will be held in a beautiful studio, full of natural light, perfect for painting!
The closest station is Clapton, which connects from Liverpool Street of Walthamstow tube stations.

Please don't forget that while painting things can get messy and the studio is quite a big space with lots of windows, it can get a little chilly, so please do wear comfy & warm clothes.
