This course is a series of 4 lessons, taking place each week on a Saturday morning.

During the 4 classes, we will look at watercolour painting from the very basics, so it is perfect for complete beginners, or for someone who has some painting but wants to broaden their knowledge. We will paint a variety of different subjects, landscapes, flowers, animals, bees etc. and look at different techniques too.

We will also discuss different tonal values, go into colour theory (a little)

We will look at how watercolours work, and we will learn how to control the paint by doing a number of different exercises so you can experience how the paint moves

We will also look at how to create images on your paper, using gridding methods and tracing

We will also look at using pens to create detail on your paintings, also adding splashes and speckles and using them as a compositional tool.

We will also look at using different materials in your painting, adding salt for instance, and using masking fluid

Once you have tried these techniques, you will be able to apply them to any subject you wish to paint

All equipment and materials are provided, you just need the desire to come along and try it and have fun

Your ticket allows you entry to all 4 sessions in the course. The dates are:

Saturday 12th March 2022 10am til 12 - Week 1: Flowers - splashes, speckles, composition

Saturday 26th March 2022 10am til 12 - Week 2: Landscapes, skies, textures

Saturday 9th April 2022 10 am til 12 - Week 3: Birds - using masking fluid/masking pens

Saturday 23rd April 2022 10am til 12 - Week 4: Animals/bees - using different medium with your watercolours, ink, guache etc

Theses lessons all lead on from each other but are also stand alone classes, so each session can be purchased individually at £32 per lesson)
