Watford Sustainable Business Workshop

• For a limited time, businesses in Watford can take part in a free initiative to transform their approach to sustainability and reduce their carbon footprint.

• From now until Spring 2022, Watford Borough Council are running a FREE ground-breaking programme to help local businesses take action in the fight against climate change.

• This free programme is open to all Watford-based businesses, who will receive practical advice and information to help lower carbon use and build sustainable practices into their day-to-day business activities.

About the Program

The Watford Sustainable Business Programme will give businesses across Watford the opportunity to participate in a free, guided initiative that will transform their approach to sustainability and give them tangible steps to reduce their carbon footprints, now and for the future.

The programme starts with businesses measuring their current carbon footprint and benchmarking their current practices. During a free workshop, participants will be given practical advice, backed by tools specifically created for businesses, that will help them adapt and develop their operations to lower their carbon use and embed sustainability in their day-to-day practices.

Each individual business will be guided through the creation of a tailored plan to ensure their new approaches become long term practices. They will also have access to a community of like-minded businesses, keen to collaborate and learn from each other as they lead the way as sustainable businesses across Watford.

Lastly, programme leaders will work with each business on a one-to-one basis to identify additional schemes or grants that will encourage ongoing innovation and continual future improvements to the sustainable practices of the business.

Communication resources will provide easy-to-use guides and templates for businesses to share their progress with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

On completion of this programme, businesses will be awarded a Sustainable Watford certificate and will be eligible to visually demonstrate that they are a leader in sustainable practice through the use of programme logos on their websites, email signatures and other outputs.
