Wine Tasting Evening

A great evening of wine tasting is promised as Julia Jenkins, owner of independent wine merchant Flagship Wines, takes us through a selection of eight different wines. There will be four white wines including a Prosecco to start with and four red wines to taste and at the end of the evening an opportunity to discuss the event over a glass of red or white wine.

Flagship Wines are an exciting innovative independent wine merchant based in St Albans since 2004 and are well known for offering excellent wines and service with outstanding wine knowledge and enthusiasm. The company has a strong loyal following that extends throughout Hertfordshire and beyond.

To help the raffle go with a bang The Grove, London's Country Estate in Chandlers Cross have donated a lunch for two in their Glasshouse resturant.

Watford Women’s Centre Plus is the only non-statutory domestic abuse service in West Herts offering long term support to Standard and Medium Risk Domestic Abuse/Violence clients. In October 2013 we had 184 active cases divided into High, Medium and Standard risk cases. During 2013 we had 312 active cases, where women suffering from Domestic Abuse need our support and help to move on to a new phase in their life and away from an abusive relationship. We do this by providing up to date information and training, so women can make choices and acquire skills needed to make an informed decision about their future. We also support their sons, husbands and brothers to resolve their dilemmas productively and support their search for better relationships and work opportunities.

Our Domestic Abuse service is considered vital by many other professionals. A recent survey by the centre amongst local stake holders found when asked “How important is it that Watford Women's Centre Plus continues to offer Domestic Abuse services?” over 90% said that it was in their view “Critically Important” that services continue. Nearly all respondent to the survey said that apart from the police or GP’s they would not know who to refer client’s needing domestic support onto.
