Watts and Co- Ecclesiastical & Domestic Designers - A Talk by Richard Hawke...
Event Information
Description
The name Watts & Co has been well known to connoisseurs of ecclesiastical & domestic design for over a century. Beyond our name however, many are often unaware of our proud history of over 140 years, of our founders and our design heritage as a key company in the Gothic revival. This long and fascinating history is a narrative of refined taste, historic grandeur, and cutting edge style.
Richard Hawker is the recently appointed Creative Consultant to Watts & Co; following the retirement of D. J. Gazeley, with whom he worked for four years. A son of the clergy, he read theology at Hull, and has a life long interest in liturgy and church furnishing and church vestments as art: holiness through beauty.
He lives in London, and is in demand for his design work, as a speaker and also as a liturgical Master of Ceremonies.
This is a free event but please do register your interest as these events tend to 'sell' out.
