This three day, in-depth course covers assessment, reading and writing and will equip your TAs with the skills they need to deliver this successful intervention in your school. TAs should attend the course with a teacher, who can offer advice and supervision of the programme, back in school.
Fischer Family Trust is a highly successful one-to-one intervention, using strategies from the Reading Recovery programme and delivered by teaching assistants over 10-20 weeks. It is designed for children in Year One to Year Three who are experiencing difficulties with reading and writing, but has been used successfully for some children up to Year Six. FFT will support accelerated progress to narrow the gap towards attaining age related expectations.
The course costs £750 for a Teacher and TA from one school and includes an extensive resource file to support programme delivery, plus lunch. Additional TAs may attend for £100 each (see note below).
Please note - the programme uses the PM starter pack of levelled texts, so if you do not have them in school already, we strongly recommend your school purchases the sets (Pink to Blue Band) available from Scholastic.
Dates: This is a three day course, which will run on Thursday 19th January, 26th January and 2nd February 2017. 9:15 - 15:30.
Trainer – Louise Wood
Please note, additional TA places become available after you have added a TA/Teacher pair to your online basket and begin to check out.
