The West of England Combined Authority are making more than £5.1 million available to employers and training providers through the Skills Bootcamps funding to deliver specialist training within a range of sectors.

This event aims to support potential applicants to the fund and wider stakeholders who may wish to be involved in partnerships to understand more about what the West of England Combined Authority is looking to achieve through the fund, details about what we are looking for in applications and the application process.

Skills Bootcamps are developed in partnership with employers and providers to help fill local skills gaps and vacancies. Employers can access funding to upskill and train their own staff or recruit new staff, with a minimal contribution required depending on the size of your business.

Skills Bootcamps offer an affordable route to develop employees with high quality training for in-demand skills. They also offer a way of developing a loyal and talented workforce, building the skills needed to futureproof businesses across the region.

The training is funded through the Department of Education's, National Skills Fund and forms part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping adults 19+ gain Skills for Life.

The Wave 4 offer covers the following sectors:

The fund will support employers to deliver bespoke training initiatives that meet short to mid-term skills shortages. Initiatives are expected to deliver progressions into work, a new role, new responsibilities, or new contracts.

The Combined Authority will also run an open opportunity for potential applicants and partners to network and connect around the Wave 4 Skills Bootcamps funding. This will be held one week after the event on Monday 6 February 2023. This will be an online event - find out more and book your place.
