About this Event

Families can come together beneath the pink and blue Kelpies and light their candles at 7pm as part of the international Wave of Light.

At 7 pm we will light our candles as we read Lysanne Sizzo’s poem Small Sparks of Life a poem that was used at the very first UK Wave of Light service in 2003.

Families will also have the opportunity to write a ribbon in memory of their babies and tie this to our memory line.

We will draw the time together to a close at 7:30 pm with a further reading.

The evening will be an informal event, with tea and coffee available to purchase from the van on site.

The event is taking place on a site near open water and any children attending remain the responsibility of the adults with them. Sands can accept no responsibility for their safety. Please follow the stewards instructions to keep away from the water.

Please note that parking at The Kelpies is charged at £3 and has a limited space. If you are able to walk from The Falkirk Stadium and through Helix Park towards The Kelpies this should take 20 – 30 minutes and will enable those less able to use the car park on site.

Please bring your own LED candle

Please dress warmly for an outdoor event in Scotland!
