Here’s your opportunity to see previews from some of our UK speakers who will be presenting at the IABC Toronto World Conference in June:
#11 ways you can ensure your organisation underperforms
Only 56% of communicators say all their communications are aligned to strategy and goals.
That’s just one of the startling data points Michael Ambjorn and Stephen Welch will cover as they take you on an interactive journey looking at practical ways communicators can engage with leaders and deliver a real return for their organisation.
Michael is founder of Align Your Org and until recently Stephen was with the Hay Group now an independent consultant.
There's quite a focus on the value of failure at the moment but why the title of underperformance? Michael explains “in an age of endless ‘best practice’ which is often unverified or unheeded, we thought we’d flip the viewpoint to see if we can provoke some new insights.”
To this, Stephen says “don’t just take out word for it, we’ll be sharing new data that will make you see these challenges in a new light. Help us by taking three minutes to answer a few question in our survey here."
Communicating Values at Work
Organisations increasingly focus on performing with integrity and embedding ethical cultures. But this can be challenging to achieve - daily headlines lament the behaviour of some of the world’s largest companies. This session with Jane Mitchell explores codes of conduct as a tool to reinforce values-based decision making and why this is key to building corporate reputation.
Jane Mitchell is a director of Karian & Box. She has helped organisations such as Rolls-Royce, BP, BAE Systems, BP, PwC and Serco communicate ethics programmes through codes, values, behaviours and ethical leadership. She is chair of the IABC Research Committee and a director of the IEB.
Michael, Stephen and Jane welcome your help with constructive suggestions to ensure their sessions are world class performances.
Our Toronto Two Preview will be taking place on May 15th at the London College of Communication, 6pm for 6.30. Tickets – which covers your first drink and nibbles – are £10 for IABC members and partner associations and £20 for non members. For directions please click here.
