Event description

Description

We all came here from somewhere…

…and that “somewhere” makes YOU! Discover the layers of your diverse identity and share with us the story of you as an immigrant or a citizen!

Lunch and refreshments provided

-------------------------------------------------

This event will be a unique opportunity for you to discover the hidden elements of your identity and the people around you at Kingston.

In the first part we will discover what makes us who we are: our experiences to date, the languages we speak, the food we eat, the places we have lived etc. This will form the basis for growing our understanding of what forms our identity and what makes us feel the way we do.

In the second part we will explore how recent world events (Trump, Brexit, refugee crisis etc.) might affect our feelings in light of our identity.

WARNING: This event might involve the use of an onion! Hosted by Hilda Mulrooney and Martin Steinmuller.

Students attending at least three events during Cultural Diversity Week will be eligible to collect 5 Kingston Award Points.
