We Are All In This Together: Hackney During The Pandemic (a temporary exhibition until 4 June 2022) features content from local Hackney residents and community organisations, submitted as part of the museum’s project ongoing to collect experiences of the pandemic.
This community sharing event is an opportunity for everybody involved in shaping the exhibition and those interested in the subject, to come together to view the displays, talk and share experiences with each other.
Attendees will be able to view a selection of photographs taken by local professional photographers documenting life in the borough under lockdown. Objects on display exploring how local residents occupied themselves, found ways to cope, and stay connected with other people, as well as well as the personal experiences of different people during the pandemic, including someone with Long Covid, a first time mother, and a clinically vulnerable person shielding at home. The exhibition also reveals how local people and organisations found ways to support NHS staff and other frontline workers.
