Thu 23 March 2017, 10:15 – 12:00 GMT
‘We are far more united than the things that divide us.’
Jo Cox MP, maiden speech to parliament 3rd June 2015
Date: 23rd March
Time : 10:15 – 12:00
Age Range - 8-11
Venue - Drama studio, Brooks Building
The words of Jo Cox, MP are the inspiration for two drama workshops exploring the themes of working together. Through the creation of imaginary worlds and contexts, and using the methods and conventions associated with drama education, children will practically and playfully explore what it means to live collaboratively, overcome differences and support fellow human beings.
Parents and guardians are invited to take part in the workshops. There is something for us all to learn together.
We will have drawing material available for younger siblings to use in the same space as the workshop.
The two 45 minute workshops will be planned and delivered by MMU students currently undertaking the new BA (hons) degree in Theatre, Education and Performance, and will be facilitated by Dr Rebecca Patterson and Alison Ramsay of the Faculty of Education.
This event will be photographed for project documentation on our website. Please let us know on the day if you don't want to be included.
