Event description

Description

Practical workshop 1-2.30pm
Discussion Event 3 – 5pm

In April earlier this year, SCAN worked with ‘Look Again: Visual Art and Design Festival’ to bring together curators, artists and institutions in the northeast together. Discussions centred around the question of support with the idea of developing a shared vision for different future economies and ecologies in Aberdeen.

Following on from the rich discussion, this second session will combine both a practical workshop and theoretical discussion towards imagining new organisational landscapes. Jim Ewen, director of The Anatomy Rooms, will guide us through the process of constituting as an organisation alongside the theoretical insights of ‘Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory’ Utrecht curatorial fellow, Staci Bu Shea, in conversation with Newcastle based artist Dr. Helen Smith. The conversation will delve into questions of social and organisational change, collaborative practice and relational revolutions.

Supported by Aberdeen City Council and Creative Scotland.

The Anatomy Rooms is a fully accessible venue.
